The Hyatt Place was definitely a great choice to stay. Nothing really to complain about. My room was immaculate and had no odors to deal with. The TV had no instructions to use it and I did get help. They said that I should have had a sheet explaining it but my room didn’t have one. But the staff showed me exactly what I needed so it wasn’t an issue afterwards. Big beds, huge mattress and it made for a good night’s sleep. The breakfast buffet was a cut above a typical one in my experience. More choices and better quality. My room was well away from the elevator and ice machine and was very quiet. Based on my stay I can easily recommend them without reservation.
Overall a nice weekend vacation. Very plain ans basic hotel room. Not a good view. I wish there was a microwave in the room. The room however was very spacious. Comfy beds. It did take a few mins for the shower water to heat up.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is odd bc it looks new but is surprisingly dated when you get to your room. Having no microwave in the room is insane,I don't think I've seen that in a long time. The bed was the worst, I actually woke up with back pain. If you need a firmer mattress, please don't stay here. I could actually feel my spine slipping out of alignment. The bed was really high up, so be careful if you have mobility issues. z I'm 5'5" and had to do a slight hop to get in. They also give you 4 twin size pillows for a king size bed. Yes, the pillows also suck. The room featured the traditional hotel AC in the room but also a thermostat on the wall. Even with 2 ACs, the room didn't cool down enough for me to sleep comfortably and all I had was a comforter on the bed, no top sheet, it was a choice between no covers or sleeping hot as hell. I honestly would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car.
Anyway, staff seemed nice enough and the breakfast was good. I think the coffee and pancakes are the only reason I'm giving this stay 3 stars.
First off, I’ve NEVER had to pay an early check in fee if the room was ready when I arrived, but was charged $30 here for checking in 2 hours early. Also, this is the only hotel that you have to sign a waiver stating the hotel has quiet hours at 9pm. That’s just a common courtesy. Also management has nothing better to do but stare at the cameras and walk around the floors and harass its guest. I had a few family members stop by my room to congratulate me after graduation. Management came and knocked on the door asking why people were there. Before walking away, he said we couldn’t play music. The music was not even audible from the other side of the door or down the hallway because I physically walked out the room to check as I didn’t want to disturb other guest even though it was only 5pm.
The next day, we saw another worker from the front desk on our floor knocking on peoples doors and looking around. It felt more like a prison than a hotel, and it’s not even a great hotel.
The closet door mirror in my room was cracked, the shower doors were difficult to slide, and there were burns in the carpet. Also, it’s winter and you can’t even sleep with the heat on because the heater is so loud at night.
Needless to say, this will be my last time at this particular location. I’ve stayed in many different Hyatt chains and this was by far my worst experience.
The box spring and mattress had red stains on it. I don’t know if it was blood or wine. The sofa in the room had crayon markings all over it. The hotel doesn’t provide microwaves in the room so you have to go down to the lobby and use the single public microwave with the other 200-300 guest.
We called the front desk about the mattress and they said someone will be up to look at it shortly . But of course no one ever showed up to look at it. I dropped 800 plus dollars on a dirty hotel experience and it will not happen again. Please people hold these hotels accountable especially when they are gladly taking our hard earned money and not providing a well deserved experience for their customers.
I had a very long and stressful flight coming from Hawaii, we got to the hotel with our well behaved dog and they made everything super easy- it was so clean and so comfortable- it was a very quiet area as a bonus
It costs A LOT to stay for one night, but it is literally worth every penny. Resort level stay. Laid back, secluded, reinforced quiet times, great staff, and of course the rooms were clean and smelled great. I don't want to give away all the spoilers, but the breakfast and seating area, you'll have to see it to believe it. Definitely staying again.
The location is very convenient. A lot of shops are within walking distance, and only 20 minutes from the beach.
